29 June 2012:

Yesterday Nobiskrug Rendsburg relaunched GRAFFITI under her new name FLYING FOX. The 73,5m hull is now painted grey which makes her look very similar to her sister ship MOGAMBO. Except for sea trials, the yacht had never sailed under her original name. Photos by Andreas Jens.

Yesterday a broker announced the sale of a 104m Blohm + Voss superyacht. The information is misleading because in fact it is the former ferry HELGOLAND, launched in 1961 under the name Wappen von Hamburg and decommissioned in 1997. There is no evidence that the vessel will be converted into a superyacht. However, we decided to put her on the top 100 list (photo: archives Carl Groll).

25 May 2012:

The world of megayachts will soon have a new no.1: Yesterday evening Lürssen Aumund launched a 180m+ yacht which should be delivered in 2013, probably to an owner from Saudi Arabia. It is believed that Project AZZAM (this name which means "determined" in Arabic, has not been confirmed) will not only be the world's largest yacht but also one of the fastest (if not the fastest) megayacht over 100 metres. As the dry dock in which the hull was built is only 170 metres long, the bow of the yacht is still missing and will be added as soon as the yacht is in the 220 metres floating dock. The photos by Claus Schäfe and Carl Groll are exclusively available at TheYachtPhoto.com.
